Does a Pretty Website with Website Graphics Sell More for You on your Website?

“So, you want a website that looks like…. ?”

I often meet with people who want their websites to look “…like this person’s website” or “…like that person’s website”. They’re impressed with the “look” of a particular website and they just can’t get past that as a priority.

I usually try to show them that even though the website they want to copy is “pretty”, it’s not the “pretty” part that makes them the money!

My favourite saying in this situation is, “People don’t buy the graphics, photos or images you use on your website, they buy the product you’re selling.”

Whether you have a pretty looking website or an average looking website, people will only buy from you if you can get your message across to them. “Pretty” doesn’t help much at all. What counts is good copywriting and a webpage structure that has meaningful strategy and/or methodology behind it.

In fact, it’s only good copywriting and proper page structure that makes you money. Without them, you’ll sit there, you’ll look at your website and you’ll forever wonder why nothing’s happening!

You know, even when I explain this in depth, people often still can’t accept it.

I can see their argument. I even agree to an extent. I want my website to look good too.

But my highest priority is my total Marketing effort. You should never forget, particularly when it comes to websites, that…

MARKETING IS KING!

Marketing is the total of the activities involved in the transfer of goods from the producer or seller to the consumer or buyer, and includes advertising, shipping, storing, selling and much else. My software automates a great many aspects of marketing, particularly for digital products. All you really need do is supply a good product, create great copy and define a pathway for the buyer to easily follow to conclude the sale.

It‘s a simple fact that as a business owner, my graphics and pretty pictures are way down the priority list and they and my website can’t stay up on the net if they don’t make me money. Do I really want to be the proud owner of a business with a hobby website? A website I can play with all I like – but one that doesn’t make me money?

OK. So what works best?
I’ve seen many websites do all sorts of things in an effort to turn visitors into buyers. After 7 years and the production of many successful websites, after studying the experts as hard as I can, I now have a laser-like focus on achieving the real purpose of a commercial website. So I’m not involved in website plastic surgery. I don’t do cosmetic make-overs. I focus on helping people make money on the internet. After all, that’s why you bought my software, isn’t it?

So let’s get right down to it! Out of all the ways I have seen websites make money, here is my recommended approach:

1. Home Page/Landing Page

· Simple Header with Website Address and/or Business Name

· Very, very, very good Headline

· Great and very entertaining copywriting

· None, or as few as possible, distractions to the buyer. Don’t give choices to click on to leave the Webpage (sometimes this is not practicable but it’s very preferable)

· Button that says something like “Get Free Instant Access” or “Download Now” or “Get Free Report” or “Buy Now” – a button that is very easy to see.
· If offering a Free Report or something Free (GREAT IDEA), then be sure to collect their email address. NEVER EVER provide something for free without getting a Name and Email Address. (Optional – long page sales copy does work as long as it is Interesting and Informative (not Boring) ).

2. Create “After Subscribe to Newsletter” and “After Payment at Checkout” Pages

· These pages “daisy-chain” any additional products or complimentary products from other people that you have a joint-venture or affiliate link with.
· Use the same principles as the Home/Landing page.

3. Start sending Auto Responder emails to people who have purchased or subscribed or downloaded your Free Item on offer.

· Make sure your emails have a personal tone to them and are written in conversational speech rather than what you were taught was right in traditional/conservative business communications.

· Write controversially. You might be blunt and even opinionated. It can be EXACTLY what people want to read. In fact even if what you write may “peeve” some people, it’s one of the best ways to get attention, get traffic to your website and it’s a sure way for people to be forwarding your emails to other people.

So there are my THREE MAJOR HINTS TO CREATE A WEBPAGE THAT MAKES MONEY. They contain some VITAL and IMPORTANT information as to what will work for you!

This information is genuinely GOOD ADVICE. In fact, making marketing the key to your efforts is so important, I cannot say enough about it. So I’ll put the above points again in a different light.

People tell me they want their website to look like so and so’s (‘cos it’s pretty). After the website has been built for them and they find it doesn’t work, they’ll blame someone else (the website builder usually).

They don’t want to hear that they’re getting THE SAME RESULTS AS THE ORIGINAL WEBSITE!!

I don’t have a problem with the copying, as it’s not really plagiarism. It’s the NO RESULTS part that gets me! Why would you copy a website that doesn’t get results? People are so used to seeing great websites that do not make money that they actually think they work! And there are millions of them.

So when I put marketing first, as I do, they get uneasy and say, “So and so has not got a website like that and I hate those long pages of sales!”

Well I had the same PERCEPTION, but after continual exposure to the GREAT Internet Marketers, I have regularly seen people making not $100’s of sales a day, not $1000’s, not $10,000’s but upwards of $100,000+ a day by doing what I’m telling YOU to do!

You may not believe this, but I promise you it is happening right now, and with websites that have less than 3 pages to them plus the checkout pages. And each website is solely focused on selling you one product at a time…

Here’s the layout…

1. Landing Page

What’s very important to note here, is that step 2 & 3 can be repeated for as many products as you might like to sell. If you’ve run out of your own products, you can do Joint Ventures or join Affiliate programs to keep the ball rolling to make more money from each visitor….

About MAKING THE SALE
Many of us have a problem with selling. You see, perhaps deep down we are afraid, or even ashamed, to ask people for a SALE. It’s something we instinctively DO NOT LIKE to do! We even hate BEING SOLD.

I’m the same as you, I do not like to be sold…. No one does, so we are all of the same understanding here… but there is a MAJOR DISTINCTION I need you to consider and understand.

When you WANT or NEED something, you go shopping or searching or researching to find the product that is best suited to your needs or wants. Right?

Now, when you do this as a buyer, and you find a website that is offering what you want, do you really want that website to do a lousy sell job on you? If you don’t want it to be easy, if you don’t want good reasons to buy, what the heck do you want? What are you looking for as a buyer? Have you ever had a bad salesman trying to sell you something you really wanted and they ended up turning you OFF instead of ON? Not a good experience, right?

So don’t do it to others. Be concise. Provide accurate information. Tell them why they’ll benefit from their purchase. And if they like what they see, HELP THEM OUT by making it easy for them to buy. Treat others as you would want to be treated.

You see, websites must use headlines to catch attention, genuine reasons to buy to build interest and an explanation of the benefits to the purchaser for purchasing the product to close the sale. That’s what causes people to BUY. Concise, to the point, no wasted time for either party, easy to purchase.

If you put up a website and make it hard for potential buyers to order or even find out a PRICE, then you are doing yourself and your visitor an injustice. The buyer won’t buy, the seller won’t sell. A waste of time all round.

If reading everything above has made ANY SENSE to you at all, you should be starting to see my point about pretty websites.

Your website is your Salesperson. It’s job is to turn people ON to BUY. The CONTENT on your website and the way the pages flow with information the BUYER WANTS TO SEE will control the sale, NOT the pretty images or a conservative approach.

So what turns people ON?

· Free Reports, Audios, DVDs on what you and your website are about

· Free Home Study Course

· Free Ebook with Reseller Rights (look for my newsletter all about this VERY HOT subject)

· Free Ticket to a Presentation or Seminar

· Free Download and use of Software (even if for a Trial period only)

OK so if you have got this part right and you’re offering something for Free (even if it is just some Free Information you provide in your Email Newsletter), then you should really pat yourself on the back. You see, I know that if you really listen and apply my MAJOR HINTS TO CREATE A WEBSITE THAT MAKES MONEY, you will see $$$$$$.

Having said that, I MUST MAKE A VERY IMPORTANT POINT HERE!

If you have any graphics on your Webpage, then PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, ensure that they LOOK GOOD. Never let an image look like it’s been stretched. Never use a poorly pixelated image. And don’t use it if it’s JUST BAD QUALITY!

When I see websites containing images with these faults, “THEY MAKE ME VOMIT!”

It’s not just that they make the website look BAD, there is one other certain fact: THEY WILL MAKE PEOPLE TURN OFF! It’s like having a BADLY presented Salesperson who can’t sell anything because he’s so poorly presented. If you were that person’s boss, wouldn’t you want to KICK HIS OR HER BUTT for them? I’m pretty sure you would.

So why is it that people often use BAD graphics and still feel good about them? Well, look out for some painful HONESTY here! I reckon it’s because they did it themselves! They’re so proud of it – it took them “…HOURS to do!” and it’s a fair bet you’ll also hear, “…I reckon it’s not bad for a beginner, eh?”. They are so into their achievement that they really can’t see that it’s just not going to cut it.

People who have little or no experience in graphic design can ruin, and even destroy, an otherwise effective website.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that these people get a Graphic Designer, pay them to create a nice header image and get rid of everything else except for a GOOD HEADLINE, GREAT COPY WRITING and perhaps a small amount of QUALITY GRAPHICS……

As I’ve already said, people do not buy the graphics you choose to use for your website.

They choose to buy PRODUCT from you because of your CONTENT – what you say you will provide and do for them.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A PRETTY PICTURE SELL without POWERFUL WORDS to back it up. BUT I have seen simple TEXT sell over and over and over again…

It’s true that a Picture says a thousands words, but a thousand people who look at that picture will each have a thousand different words to describe what it might mean to them individually. Especially if those people come from different cultures. With WORDS you can be very SPECIFIC to get your PRECISE message across to people!

Want PROOF? Let me reveal an OBVIOUS FACT that everyone seems to miss…

Google PROVES TO THE WORLD that TEXT Ads outsell IMAGE Ads almost EVERY TIME!

Why would people use only Text ads on the results page when you search on Google? Well, with the little space available, words can BE SPECIFIC. Put an Image in that same space and it wouldn’t come close to ensuring EVERYONE who looks at it gets the message and takes action.

Did you know that Google offers Image and Video advertising? Have you seen any? I wonder why you haven’t?

WHAT AM I TRYING TO ACHIEVE IN SHARING ALL THIS WITH YOU?

Well, it’s simple enough…. I would like to think that YOU can create a website that makes you money simply by having a PROPER BALANCE between being “Pretty” and being a great “Salesperson”. Do not for one second think your website is NOT a salesperson! That is EXACTLY what your website is and the sooner you think this way, the more your MINDSET will be on producing results for your website.
You see, a good salesperson will at least introduce themselves in a way that ENCOURAGES a sale to happen, either now or sometime in the future. He would even have got friendly enough to ASK FOR a NAME and maybe even an EMAIL ADDRESS! See what I mean?

Best Tips for Writing an effective Ebook and generating Referral Website Traffic

When writing an ebook you have to consider several factors that will define the look and readability of your ebook as well as the readers referring traffic to your website.
If you are really serious about writing an ebook then you definitely need to start asking yourself questions and know about certain factors like

* What information will your ebook contain?
* Who will be the primary reader of your ebook?
* Whether it is for an audience or any particular person?
* Will it be attractive to the reader?
* What effects your ebook has on readers whether positive or negative?
* Is the content of your ebook meaningful and significant to the readers?

The most difficult part of writing an ebook is the first sentence that should catch the reader’s attention. The first line of your ebook should be such that it defines the whole content of the ebook in one sentence.

The way to successful write an ebook is to go step by step when writing the ebook. The first and the foremost thing you need to do while writing an ebook is that the subject matter of your ebook must be beneficial to the reader and should not contain matter that is not important to your ebook.

No fluff and filler as sorts. Get straight to the point and cover exactly what needs to be defined so the reader learns what is relevant in one read.

Try to make bullets and points, this way your ebook will look attractive and also the reader will be able to clearly understand the content of the ebook. Next write a “mission statement” that focuses on the content of your ebook and what it will create in the reader’s life for them by reading it.

Remember, that all the contents or chapters of your ebook must consider your mission statement. Finally, make your reasons of writing an ebook and decide the layout of chapters. Your ebook should be well designed and must contain TOC (table of contents) that is the face of your ebook. Try to make your ebook user friendly by making chapters answer commonly asked questions or stages within your subject that adhere to some time line.

I usually offer people 50% for Ebooks so that it is easy for them to refer it and have only 2 purchases to cover their own costs. 50% is pretty good margin considering my costs to earn a sale through other methods.

Original photos are almost never the right size for your web site. They usually take too long to show up on the page, because it takes time for a large file to download. They’re usually to big to fit on the page where they are supposed to. And when you resize the photo, whoever or whatever was in it becomes too small.

It’s hard enough learning to code the page. The last thing a budding webmaster wants to do is spend zillions of hours learning technical details of image processing. Luckily for you, today’s programs bundle the most important features into a single, very affordable program. We will feature Bulk Photo Resizer in this article (it’s free download to try out), and we’ll explain the key things. We’ll cover file sizes, compression, photo resizing, and cropping. Once we’re done, you’ll be able to put images into your web page.

No matter where you got your photos, you’ll need to make sure they are the right dimensions and file sizes for your web site. Dimensions means the size of the picture that you see on the screen. File size refers to how much data the picture contains. The bigger the file size, the longer it takes to download and appear in the visitor’s browser. Web surfers are a finicky lot, so you can’t afford to have a site that takes much time to bring up its images. And the more images there are, the longer it takes for them to appear.

The good news is that you can shrink the file size without giving up much photo quality, by using compression. Bulk Photo Resizer makes it easy to do.

But how big should your photo dimensions be? Start with the screen size of the average monitor. Some are larger or smaller, but many are 800 pixels across. If your picture is really important to the site, then you might want to fill the main column of your page. If it is less important, than you might fill half of your main column and have text flowing around it, or you might place it in a narrower side column. Once you decide on your page layout, you can turn that into real numbers. Let’s say you have a single side column of 200 pixels and a main column of 600 pixels. For the largest, most important picture, that would limit you to 600 pixels minus whatever margin you have (padding) around the picture, so it doesn’t sit flush against the sides of the column. Unless it is very important to your site, you don’t want to have more than one large picture. For a side column, you would limit the picture to 200 pixels, minus your padding around the picture.

Using Bulk Photo Resizer, you can click on Resize and then select custom size to get the exact width you desire. Just set the width, and Bulk Photo Resizer will make sure the height is exactly the right proportion to prevent any stretching of your image. Keeping everything the right shape is called preserving the “aspect ratio.”

If you have purchased stock photos or are able to create high-resolution photos, then you’ll have no problem making a good impression. If the resolution of a photo is not so good, then you might try making it a smaller size so that it is not so noticeable. If you are doing your own photography, be sure to get to know your camera. You can adjust the resolution to a higher level if you need to. This will take up more of the camera memory, but it will be worth it for the really important or detailed shots.

Once you have decided on the size of the photo, there is something you’ll want to do before you resize it. At least you’ll want to do this with most photos. It’s called cropping. When you crop your photo, you are trimming away the outer areas of the photo in order to feature the important objects or people in the photo. Our featured program, Bulk Photo Resizer, makes this very easy. If you don’t like the result, you can discard the change and try again. You can use Bulk Photo Resizer for one picture at a time, or you can use it on hundreds of photos all at once. Our testers told us that it was nearly impossible to make mistakes.

I can think of one mistake you don’t want to make. Be sure to save your photo with a different file name when you make a major change to it. This way, if you decide you don’t like it, you can start over with the original image. I like to add an underscore, and then the number one for the major version, then a letter for the smaller changes. My first change would end in “_1b.jpg,” for example. I might even add something to remind me what I did, if the project is likely to get complicated. For example, “_1b_crop.jpg.” The nice thing about 1b, 1c and so forth, is that it keeps the image versions in chronological order when they are sorted by name in Windows Explorer, the program you use to look at the directories and files on your hard drive and peripherals.

When you save the photo, you will need to know how much compression to use. At least you will want to compress it when you produce the image that will be going onto your website. If you are just saving the image but with plans to do more to it, then don’t add any compression. If it is a .jpg, then keep the compression setting at the highest (meaning highest resolution). If the image is a .bmp, then it will not compress until you save it as a .jpg.

A compressed photo takes up less space, and it downloads to your visitor’s browser faster. The problem with compression, though, is that you lose quality. If you do too much, then your photo can become pretty blotchy. Nearly all the images you see on the web are compressed. The .jpg files are best for images with shades of color or gradiants of light and dark. The .gif files are popular for solid color art such as typical clip art, especially if they use transparent areas to get a non-square shape. The .jpg images can’t do that. They can pretend to, though, by using the exact same background color as the spot they will be in. If you do it right, the background will blend in with the website.

If you are saving your photo in its final form, then you will want to use at least some compression. Bulk Photo Resizer makes compressing your photos quite easy. For compression that is not too obvious, use 80. The scale is zero to 100. 60 is a lot of compression, but the image starts to be noticeably blotchy. You probably won’t be able to tell there’s compression at a setting of 90 or higher, but it will still reduce the file size a good bit.

Remember that other web sites, such as picture posting sites, social networking sites, and dating sites all have rules as to how many kilobytes a photo can be. If they say it must be less than 100 KB, then check the size of your photo in a program such as Photo Resizer to see if your photo needs to be compressed or made smaller. Either action, resizing down or compressing, will give you a smaller file size.

Let me make sure you understand the difference between image size (dimensions) and file size (kilobytes. This confuses a lot of people. The image size is how big your photo looks, the file size is how much space it takes up on your hard drive. Bigger file sizes take longer to show up on a web page because the visitor is downloading them in their browser when they go to the page.

Now that you have cropped your photo, you are ready to resize. Be sure not to enlarge the photo. Bulk Photo Resizer will prevent this. The reason is that when people enlarge digital pictures, they start to get jagged edges, that we call the “jaggies.” I’m talking about the little squares that make up the image. When they get too big, they look like the effect used on TV to obscure someone’s face or license plate. That is called pixelation. You’ve seen pixelated images on the net, and it looks pretty amateurish.

Creating a Website that Makes You Money while you sleep!

One of the many things to look for on a successful website is “What is the business model being used?” or, put another way, “How does this website make money for its owner?”

Figuring out the business model on a website is not always so easy, but it can be well worth the effort.

Many people take to the Internet with Traditional Business concepts and ideas. Without educating themselves about the internet environment, they most often make gross mistakes that cost them both time and money. I truly hope you haven’t experienced this and that this email helps you focus on direct, easy steps to making money on the Internet.

The 2 stumbling blocks to success I see most often are…

1. People don’t know how to define a Website Business Model for their current business.
2. People don’t know how to go about creating the Content in the Website – most often taking the long way around to do it.

The first thing most people do is try to sell a Physical Product that they have been selling for some time – a product they are familiar with. Although this can work, it doesn’t always work well on the internet – and the person is left wondering why their website doesn’t do it for them. Rather than going into the reasons why this is so, I’d much prefer to steer you in the RIGHT direction – to follow what I and many other successful marketers see as the Current and Future Trends that will make money for years to come.

Yes it is pretty simple and perhaps doesn’t sound too exciting to some of you, but it is by far the easiest way to automate a business income on the internet. Before you  dismiss the idea out of hand, you should understand that it is a simple process. Whatever you do well makes you an expert to one degree or another in that particular field. If you create content explaining how to do what you do well, then you are in a position to assist others to succeed in this area. It is this type of information that people seek most strongly on the internet. It is what people most readily PAY MONEY FOR!

Here’s a case in point: One of my favourite clients asked me what would make potential clients come to her website and buy from her? When she explained, I said “Well why don’t you teach people how to set up a business that sells products like yours and stop trying to sell to people who already own that kind of business!” WHAMMO! She nearly fell off her chair. In that moment she really came to understand how I see the future of the internet – and what her money-earning part in it could be.

My client was able to take everything she knew about running the businesses that she was supplying her products to at a wholesale level, and WITH THIS INFORMATION help others set up a new business. What would they then be likely to buy in order to stock their shelves? Naturally enough, her products!

I hope you get the point here. It’s not often that what you’re doing currently in traditional markets will make money for you on the Internet. People want information from the internet. People want to know how to DO things. YOU could be a major supplier of that information in your chosen niche market.

The fact is, you can charge more money and attract more people by teaching them how to Make Money, rather than by trying to sell them something that maybe won’t make them money. People who are looking to move into a New Industry or Profession are always going to need a coach or mentor – at least some sort of guidance to help them along. You can be the provider of this – and in a Digital Format that sells online while you are sleeping, working or holidaying!

And there are so many tools that allow you to expand your business beyond your local territory and into the global market. Selling content in a digital format makes it possible for a sale to be totally automated. Instead of car parking space in front of your Retail Business, your restriction becomes how many languages (other than English) that you can use to present your business globally! Successful website creators understand that the only limits on the Internet are set by their ability to communicate effectively with ALL potential clients – with the aim being to offer them something that they really NEED instead of what they think they WANT.

OK Let’s look at the way content can be created and presented on a website that makes you money while you sleep. It’s a lot easier than you think, but hard to discipline yourself to put the time into doing it. I do the sort of thing I write about here all the time as a full time job. Yes, it keeps me up late at night working at times, but it also lets me live a life that most people dream of, so the choice is yours… The question to ask yourself is what will you miss out on tomorrow if you don’t do it NOW?

1. Put together a list of 30 topics that can be 3-5 minutes (500-1000 words) long on each one.
2. Open up a word document and branch out on each topic on 1 piece of paper of the most important/major notes and points that need to be put on that Topic.
3. Come back after completing the 30 topics and open up each Word Document 1 by 1 and add to the base points of each topic. Do not do any more than 2 pages per topic if you can, to avoid a lengthy read for your viewer (unless it is totally necessary – less is more and better sometimes).
4. This is now in text format and can be easily made into Video & Audio files. When you do this they are worth a lot more. For creating Videos, I use Windows Movie Maker which is installed on every XP and Vista machine and is far easier than using Powerpoint or Publisher or any Photo Editing program. It’s just so easy to make movies!

6. From the Videos that you produce, you can make small advertisement-type videos and upload them into You Tube and many other Video Websites that will bring you traffic and help create your profile. (I will be sending an email out all about promoting Videos through external websites other than your own very soon, keep an eye out for it!)

21 Day Guide to …..(you fill in the blank)………….
eg. 21 days to Making your Own Backyard Landscape Feature
(Charge people a once off fee eg. $9 or $21 or $247)

1. Open up a Word Document and put together a list of things people can do 1 day at a time for 21 days. The list must be 1 thing for 1 day and be about 15 mins activity to do.
2. Then go back over and create a new word document for each Day and then write out the base for each day in bullet point form.
3. Finally go back over each of the 21 Word Documents that you created and fill in the details of each Day. Put in any special requirements and activities they might need to do. It is important not to get fussy about formatting the content. Just put it on the screen in front of you, as the formatting in the website must be done later, not in Word, as emails cannot and do not like Microsoft Word copy n paste.
4. Again you can also create the content in Video and place the Videos on webpages in your Website that you provide to people in the Emails you send out.
5. The Emails are then delivered for you each day automatically and all you need to do is answer support emails and keep your content updated.

Open up a Word Document for each Ebook and then type out the Table of Contents for each Ebook.

1. Create the Title for each chapter and then put in about 5 or 6 bullet points of what you want to have each chapter cover.
2. Come back to each Chapter and then start to write the content.
3. Go to Outsourcing Websites (Elance/RentACoder) and have the ebooks formatted and proofread and turned into ebooks with graphics. I find RentACoder cheaper and has more people bidding on my projects and I have met some people that I look forward to working with on a constant on-going basis due to their work quality.
4. Place ebooks into your Website so that when people purchase them online they are sent automatically for you to their email address and all you need to do is collect the money and answer support emails.

For all of you who cannot stand typing, there is an even EASIER SOLUTION!
Simply put yourself in front of your Video Camera and then record yourself. It is far easier for some people to talk candidly to a camera in order to produce content. Thanks to Technology, these people can get away without typing very much at all!

Here are 7 Tips for Landing Pages to your Website

Writing an effective Landing Page/s (page that your Visitors see first when they
come to your website which is usually your Home page or a page created just for a Pay-Per-Click campaign) is something that can really make the results change according to your ability to keep some pointers in mind. Below I have put together some important points for you to consider.

1. Reduce the amount of pages for your Offer to the Visitor. If it takes three pages for someone to complete the Introduction to your Offer and finally find your purchase or signup as a member link, see if you can cut it back to two pages or even one. Why? Achieving 100% clickthrough success from one page to the next is difficult to achieve. So the more pages it takes, the more people you will lose.

2. Achieve the desired outcome – everytime before going further. Each page should have a desired outcome and needs to be achieved and then the next page is to do the same. Write down the objective and purpose of each page in your offer, from the primary landing page onwards right to the After-Sale question/offer. Be clear about it yourself as you write, and make it clear to your readers.

3. One place to read and focus the eyes – down the page in one column. When you want specific action, you will increase your visitor to sale conversion rates by ensuring that the page is one column that goes down the page and allows the visitor to read a continuous page of text to give them all the information in a clear and to the point manner – ensure that each word and sentence has a purpose. By allowing the offer to be simply a scroll away, it saves the time for a click and having to wait for a download, therefore making it that much easier for your visitor to keep reading.

4. Write a bold and thought provoking headline. Asking the right question in a headline or by making a bold statement can lead a person to really want to find out more or say “That is what I want”. Think about your Headline and most importantly Test and Test and retest your Headlines. In other words, try one day, one week or one month with a particular headline and then try changing it and measuring your results. When you have about 50+ conversions then you can do a visit to sale/subscription % and see how it compares when you change the headline. Some Headlines may surprise you.

5. The last few steps to the Shopping Centre Checkouts is where they make their most money and the same with your website. Repeat the value of your offer and in bullet point form detail what they are receiving for as bonuses for taking action now. You need to move fence-sitters into action. It is here that you really need to work on the final closing words and with several chances for them to click and order or continue reading to find out more such as testimonials. Again putting some really clenching sales copy at the bottom of your page is as crucial as the Headline you are using. Test the closing sales copy just like your Headlines.

6. Always, always and always ask for their Email Address at the very least. Give your visitors a good reason or offer them something for free in exchange for their email address and the ability to send them an Email Newsletter or Report that will be sent to them over a period of time (This can be set up as an Auto-Responder). Missing the sale at their first visit is not a loss and you can now remind them by Email Newsletter or promote through your Auto Responder.

7. Use Video and neat formatting to create an effective response. Try to avoid too many graphics or images or even to try and make it look good or pretty. Instead put a video in that is simple and clearly outlines the Offer. It has been proven time and time again the look of a website is not what sells the website, but the content in the website that is displayed in an easy to digest manner that is clearly formatted and in bullet point format to show the distinct reasons why this offer is for them. Video is the best way to deliver content and is virtually the equivalent of having your own TV Advertising but for a very small fraction of the cost.

So I hope this has helped you get at least one if not a few ideas to help you with your Website to perform more for you.
